Paloma Blanca II (Giant) Framed

Paloma Blanca ll, meaning “white dove” in Spanish, is a series I created around one central question: can we truly reach peace and purity? These are qualities I believe we all search for, yet they are often difficult to achieve in our own lives, among nations, and in the world as a whole. The white dove appears throughout the series as a symbol of peace, hope, and spiritual purity, while the figures look outward, inviting the viewer to reflect on that same question. I also use leaves in this work to represent growth, renewal, and new beginnings. A leaf may fall, but the tree continues to live, and something new begins again. In this particular painting, the leaf above the figure’s head unexpectedly reminded me of Caesar after I stepped back from the work bringing in a sense of history, wisdom, and the weight of human civilization. For me, this painting is about reflection, transformation, and the possibility that even through struggle, humanity can still move toward peace.
